Two Brooklyn residents arrested on weapons charges after pursuit in Tarrytown

Two Brooklyn residents were taken into custody Nov. 6 after a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 87 led police to uncover illegal firearms, a stolen license plate and forged documents. The incident began around 7:35 p.m., when State Police troopers at the Tarrytown barracks observed a 2021 Nissan Sentra traveling northbound near exit 7 in the village of Ardsley, allegedly violating multiple traffic laws.

Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver, said to be 26-year-old Selena Lasco, refused to comply, leading to officers on a pursuit that lasted several kilometers before being dismissed. The vehicle was located a short time later by the Orangetown Police Department on Route 59 in Nyack. Lasco and his passenger, 23-year-old Javed Duncan, were later taken into custody. Duncan allegedly tried to escape on foot but was quickly caught.
