10-year-old rape victim found abandoned in Madhya Pradesh forest; go after the criminal

NEW DELHI: A 10-year-old girl, who was apparently brutally raped, was found abandoned in a serious condition in the forest area of Myana district in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district.

After a case was recorded on the subject, many police teams started working to catch the unidentified suspect. The victim was referred to Bhopal hospital for treatment when his condition started deteriorating.

According to police officials, the girl had come to the weekly market (haat market) in Guna city with her mother, who sells corn.

After the market, mother and daughter went to a local flour mill to buy wheat.

While they were returning home in the evening, the accused approached them saying that the flour mill owner had forgotten to return the remaining Rs 100 to them.

The defendant asked the mother to send her daughter with him to collect the money from the shopkeeper.

The defendant put the girl on a motorcycle with her consent.

However, when the girl did not return after a few hours, the mother, her husband and others began to search for her daughter.

During the search, around 22:00 in the evening, they found the girl lying unconscious in the forest, with no clothes on her body and plenty of blood flowing from her private parts.

After the families informed the police, many police teams came to the scene.

They sent the victim to a hospital in Guna. However, considering his serious condition, doctors referred him to Bhopal after giving him initial treatment.

According to SDOP Vivek Asthana, a case has been registered against the unidentified suspect and teams of four police stations are working to identify and nab him.

The police official announced that Guna SP will offer a reward of Rs 10,000 to those who provide information about the accused.

Reacting to the incident, MP Congress Chief Jitu Patwari accused the state government of failing to ensure the safety of women and girls.

On Friday, November 8, Patwari claimed that rape cases are being reported every day from across the state. He said that there is no rule of law in MP, there is only forest raj in the state.

He said that the BJP government does not have the authority to stop crimes against women and girls, and the rape of a 10-year-old girl in Guna is another example of this. – Statesman/ANN
