Colombian man arrested; faces charges including drug trafficking and weapons offenses

On November 8, one person was detained on drug trafficking and other charges.

Columbia Police Department (CPD) detectives suspected 32-year-old Kyle Shepherd of Columbia of multiple short-term drug deals.

Police obtained a search warrant for his residence and also found that he had an arrest warrant for a prior crime.

Court documents state detectives found Shepherd leaving his home during a traffic stop in his vehicle.

Police say they found a knotted bag in the driver’s side compartment containing five suspected fentanyl pills and over $600 in cash.

Officers executing a search warrant at Shepherd’s home allegedly discovered:

  • 45 grams of fentanyl
  • A knotted bag containing 24 grams of suspected Xanax
  • two knotted bags of suspected cocaine
  • A bottle containing 3.5 pink pills labeled Oxycodone
  • $3,500 cash
  • four firearms

CPD arrested the man and booked him into the Boone County Jail without bail.

Shepherd is charged with four counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Second Degree Drug Trafficking.
