Grand Island man found guilty in stolen firearm case

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – A Grand Island man will be sentenced in January for a case involving dozens of gun crimes.

Hall County District Court records show Tethloach Tut, 20, pleaded no contest and was convicted of possession of a stolen firearm. Forty other burglary and weapons charges were also dismissed in a plea bargain.

Police arrested Tut last year after a man reported someone broke into his home in the 1400 block of N. Locust and stole his high school championship wrestling ring along with 21 firearms.

Court records show Hall County deputies later located a group of people on S. Locust still discharging firearms within city limits.

Among the groups contacted were Tut and 20-year-old Angel Gatto. The next day, officers executed a search warrant at Gatto and Tut’s home, locating the stolen wrestling ring and ammunition.

It was Gatto sentenced to five years probation He was convicted last month of possession of a stolen firearm, attempted burglary and drug possession.

Tut is scheduled to be sentenced on January 8, 2025, and could face up to 20 years in prison.
