Trade Deficit in France Near 1-Year High | 08.11.24

(RTTNews) – France’s trade deficit reached its highest level in almost a year in September, data from the customs office showed on Friday.

The trade deficit increased to 8.3 billion euros in September from 7.7 billion euros in the previous month. This was the largest shortage since last October.

Economists had predicted that the trade deficit would narrow to €7.0 billion in September.

While exports recorded a monthly decline of 1.4 percent, imports fell only 0.3 percent.

Data showed that exports decreased by 3.4 percent and imports decreased by 4.4 percent on an annual basis in September.
