UN report: Israel’s war of extermination kills more children than men

On Friday, the United Nations Human Rights Office released a report showing that nearly 70 percent of confirmed deaths in Gaza were women and children, underscoring the fact that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

The report stated: “The main victims of attacks on residential buildings were children; the three age categories most represented in confirmed deaths were respectively 5 to 9 years old, 10 to 14 years old and 0 to 14 years old. Both girls and boys for 4 years old.”

It is impossible to know the true death toll due to the systematic destruction of Gaza’s healthcare system since October 7, 2023, when Israel began its war of destruction. Gaza’s Ministry of Health confirmed 43,000 deaths due to Israeli attacks; Many others remain uncounted and unburied. . Earlier this year, Lancet He published an article estimating that the real death toll may be 186,000 or more: this figure undoubtedly rises to over 200,000.

But the UN report was based on deaths that the UN Human Rights Office could verify firsthand: 8,119 people. Of these, 2,036 were women and 3,588 were children. 22 percent of them were women and 44 percent were children.

According to almost equally shocking figures, the vast majority of those killed, 64 percent, were killed in attacks that resulted in the deaths of 10 or more civilians. This is a result of Israel’s systematic policy of dropping massive munitions into densely populated neighborhoods and high-rise buildings with the aim of killing as many people as possible.

This level of mass death was made possible by the more than 14,000 2,000-pound bombs supplied to Israel by the United States, which the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) used to systematically destroy more than 60 percent of buildings in Gaza.
