KANPUR: An underage student from Fatehpur, who had moved here to prepare for the medical entrance test (NEET) at a leading coaching institute, was kept hostage for over six months and raped by two of her teachers, police said on Saturday.

They said the ordeal for the student started in December 2022, when he was staying in a hostel in the city.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Kalyanpur) Abhishek Pandey said the case was registered after he approached the Kalyanpur police station on Friday.

Both teachers, biology teacher Sahil Siddiqui and chemistry teacher Vikas Porwal, were arrested and charged with rape, false imprisonment, criminal intimidation and under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). To behave.

The student was 17 years old when this incident occurred.

In his complaint, the survivor told the police that in December 2022, Siddiqui invited him to his friend’s flat in Makdi-Khera area of ​​Kalyanpur for a New Year party and said that other students would also be there.

She claimed that when she reached the flat, she only found Siddiqui there, who drugged her by lacing Siddiqui’s soft drink with a sedative and also raped her while videotaping the episode.

According to the complaint, Siddiqui allegedly held her hostage in his home for over six months, during which time he repeatedly raped her and also threatened to share the video online if she spoke to anyone about it.

A few months later, the student alleged that Porwal raped her.

In the FIR, he said that he could not muster the courage to seek help from the police as he was afraid of endangering his family.

Six months later, the girl’s mother came to Kanpur and took her with her.

The girl was initially hesitant to contact the police but decided to take the step when she came across a video showing Siddiqui sexually assaulting a student she was coaching.

The case is against two teachers under Sections 328 (causing hurt by poison etc. with intent to commit an offence), 376(2)(n) (repeatedly raping the same woman), 376(2)(n) of the Indian Penal Code. recorded. Sections 344 (wrongful imprisonment for 10 days or more) and 506 (punishment for making criminal threats) and POCSO Act are applicable, an official said.
