3 people hospitalized after stabbing in Ames, Iowa

Three people were injured in a stabbing attack in Ames on Friday evening.

Police were called to the 3700 block of Tripp Street near West Hy-Vee around 5:30 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from the Ames Police Department. Officers found a crime scene in the street and two victims nearby.

The first two victims were transported by ambulance to Mary Greeley Medical Center. Shortly after, another injured person arrived at the hospital. Two of the victims were hospitalized under unknown circumstances and one victim was transported to MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, police said Friday evening.

While the investigation is ongoing, the suspect has not yet been arrested.
