14-year-old teenager in Florida confessed to raping and punching 91-year-old woman: report

OCALA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida teenager pleaded guilty Thursday morning after beating and sexually assaulting a 91-year-old woman in June, according to court records.

Around midnight on June 9, Allegedly, the teenager sneaked into the 91-year-old’s house, then beat and sexually assaulted her.According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the woman woke up to find the child entering her home through an unlocked door.

The teenager then allegedly punched and groped the victim while she resisted until he stopped.

“She was beaten and sexually assaulted in a brutal act of violence,” Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods said in June.

Accordingly NBC affiliate WESHA neighbor’s video shows the teenager riding a bicycle in front of the victim’s home wearing what appears to be the same clothing he wore during the crime.

WESH reported that deputies identified the suspect using video and DNA evidence from the rape kit.

“It was shocking that anyone would take such an action against a 91-year-old person, but it is truly disturbing to see the young age of the detainee,” the sheriff added. “While I firmly believe that he should be held accountable for his crime, as a father I extend my sympathy to his family. “We hope his arrest will lead to the provision of assistance that will prevent the continuation of such acts.”

In an interview with detectives over the summer, WESH said the suspect admitted to breaking into the home, beating and sexually assaulting the woman.

The child was arrested on charges of sexual assault of a victim over the age of 12 by a person under the age of 18 and burglary from a residential property.

His sentence is planned to be announced on the morning of December 19.
