‘Candyman’ and ‘Final Destination’ star Tony Todd dies at 69

Tony Todd is best known for his roles in the films “Candyman” and “Final Destination”. died. He was 69 years old.

“Sadly, I can confirm that my friend and client of over 30 years, Tony Todd, passed away peacefully at his home in Marina Del Rey on Wednesday, November 6, 2024,” Todd’s representative said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“I am lucky to have been able to work with this wonderful man and I will miss him every day.”

For a long time, the cause of death of the actor was not immediately announced.

Some of Todd’s Hollywood colleagues paid tribute to the late actor.

Todd’s “Candyman” co-star Virginia MadsenHe shared an emotional video on Instagram following the actor’s death.

In the selfie video, Madsen said, “I just found out about Tony, I don’t know what to say right now… I’ll say more later my dear Candyman…”

Madsen rubbed her tearful eyes as she talked about her late co-star.

Todd was born on December 4, 1954 in Washington, DC. The actor studied at the University of Connecticut for two years, then won a scholarship to the Eugene O’Neill National Theater Institute.

He made his cinema debut in the 1986 fantasy film “Sleepwalker”. Todd’s impressive acting career includes more than 200 television and film credits. He is known for his chilling performance in the 1992 movie “Candyman”. Todd played the hooked ghost in the horror classic.

The actor reprized his role in “Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh” and “Candyman: Day of the Dead.”

Todd is survived by his wife, Fatima, and two children, Alex and Ariana.
