Books Black People Should Buy Before They’re Banned

As Donald Trump prepares to move into the White House for a second time, Black people are already thinking about how his policies could impact our communities.

We have already seen an increase in book bans and challenges across the country, and an increase in initiatives in this direction. Review black history curriculum In states like Florida, eliminating anything that might cause white students to feel “guilt, suffering, or other psychological distress” (you know, like slavery).

Now, with the help of a Republican-controlled Senate and a conservative majority on the U.S. Supreme Court, there could potentially be no check on what Donald Trump and his conservative allies might try to overcome.

But even if your children’s schools aren’t teaching them the things you think they need to learn, you can do your part at home to make sure they have access to books that teach them about their history and make them proud of who they are.
