The court on Saturday was tasked with finding probable cause for five counts of first-degree assault during the Seattle Police Department’s ongoing investigation.

While the suspect’s defense requested a lower bail, a King County judge granted the prosecutor’s request for $2,000,000.

They pointed out in court that he posed “extreme danger”, saying he stabbed five people randomly and in broad daylight within five minutes.

Arguing for bail in court, the prosecution claimed the right of people in the CID to feel safe and protected.

King County court members also said they took the man’s criminal history into account. He has been convicted of nine crimes in the last 10 years. He also has misdemeanor convictions and has an outstanding arrest warrant.

The man accused of the crimes has not yet been formally charged. Police investigators are expected to submit a case referral for this on Thursday, November 14.

Investigation of the suspect continues Five more stabbings occurred in the area over a two-day period. A total of 10 people were stabbed.

There is currently no application to indicate that the incidents are within the scope of hate crime. But this may change as researchers continue to gather evidence.
