As the colder months approach, bonfire and fireworks night festivities have made warm headlines this week.

Events in the West Country lit up the skies but there was also some irresponsible behavior from some, as a Lidl store was forced to close following a fireworks display. They set out at the entrance.

Elsewhere, Bristol civil rights campaigner Dr. Tributes continued to pour in for Paul Stephenson following his death at the age of 87.

Viridor’s recycling plant in Avonmouth to close at the end of the year

A massive recycling facility employing 120 people in Avonmouth is to close at the end of the year.

Somerset Live reported The facility, owned by waste management company Viridor, only opened in 2022 and cost £100 million to build.

With the Christmas season on the horizon, Somerset Council announced the holiday waste collection hours this week.

Cotswold Farm Park also announced on Facebook that the site would be closed until November 21, with the aim of turning it into a “Christmas wonderland”.
