Female fake ola taxi driver at Bengaluru airport – Woman shares harrowing experience after boarding fake Ola taxi at Bengaluru airport

A woman shared her terrifying experience with a fake taxi driver at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

In a post on X, Nikita Malik shared details of the incident, highlighting the risks posed by unauthorized drivers impersonating official ride-hailing services like Ola.

It all started with him booking an Ola cab from the designated pickup area of the airport around 10:30 pm. Shortly thereafter, an unassigned driver approached her via the app and claimed he could take her to her destination.

“I was almost trafficked/raped/looted/assaulted by a random taxi driver who was allowed in at the Ola pickup station of Bengaluru Airport and treated as if he was in terminal 1 of the airport at 10.30pm, had I not called 112. “I wouldn’t be here writing this,” she said in the post.

In the post, Nikita also shared photos of the handwritten complaint against the driver. Details of the incident were revealed in the letter.

Despite initial hesitation, she got in the car, but realized something was wrong when the driver did not request the mandatory OTP and instead asked her to enter the destination directly into her personal Maps app, citing a glitch in her official app.

As the journey progressed, the situation became darker. The driver started demanding extra fees which he refused to pay.

He then offered to transfer her to another vehicle for the agreed fee.

Sensing danger, Nikita insisted on returning to the airport, but the driver ignored him and stopped at an unscheduled gas station, demanding Rs 500 for fuel.

Remaining calm, he secretly contacted the 112 emergency hotline and informed a family member of his location. Within 20 minutes, police arrived at the welcome stand at the airport and detained the man, identified as Basavaraj.

The incident highlighted growing concerns about the safety of women using ride-hailing services, especially at night.
