Engagespot is the first Kerala startup to join the Techstars NYC program

Thiruvananthapuram: In a landmark achievement, Engagespot, a Thiruvananthapuram-based startup, has become the first company from Kerala to be selected for the prestigious Techstars New York City Accelerator Programme. interaction point It was one of the 12 startups globally selected for the 15-week intensive program at Techstars’ headquarters in New York, marking a major milestone for Kerala’s tech ecosystem.
Known as one of the world’s top accelerator programs, Techstars has an alumni network of more than 4,000 startups, including 150 unicorn companies. Engagespot’s selection provides global recognition of Kerala’s growing influence in the developer tools industry.
Engagespot transforms business communication By simplifying notifications across multiple channels including SMS, email, push notifications, and Slack. The AI-powered system optimizes timing and channel selection to maximize engagement, reducing messaging costs by up to 50%. Despite launching just 11 months ago, Engagespot has already attracted more than 2,000 developers worldwide and signed large annual contracts worth over $100,000 with customers like Veho, Sameday, and Nivoda.
“Techstars Accelerator has been transformative for us,” said co-founder and CEO Shiv Shankar. “In just 15 weeks, we increased our revenue fivefold, achieved operational profitability and increased our monthly growth rate to 25%.”
“Testing our product with leaders of unicorn companies allowed us to move forward quickly. The community and network we created will last a lifetime,” said co-founder and CTO Anand Sukumaran.
Engagespot raised $250,000 during the program, with investments from Techstars and angel investors including Fred Cook, CTO of Veho and Great Valley Investments. Looking ahead, the startup plans to expand its presence in North America, with its founders based in New York and engineering operations in Thiruvananthapuram. The company aims to hire 20 engineers next year to support growth.
