Tascosas senior runner Derrion Howard is regaining feeling in his arms and legs after Friday’s horrific crash

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Derrion Howard, a senior running back for the Tascosa Rebel football team, is regaining feeling in his arms and legs after a scare against Amarillo High School.

The senior, who was attacked during a routine game, scored a goal while running, only to fall awkwardly to the ground on the way.

Howard was treated immediately and taken to the hospital from Dick Bivins Stadium with symptoms of numbness in his arms and legs.

Tascosa Football Booster has an update on Howard’s condition following the accident:

“The official statement on Derrion is that he is doing well. They kept him in intensive care for observation overnight. He has feeling in his arms and legs and is currently waiting for the doctors to check him this morning. “We once again ask the Rebel Family to keep him and his family in your prayers.”

They also added, “If you can contribute anything to help this young man, please note “Family” when using Venmo.”

Venmo has attached a QR code that you can find Here.

Like all of us in the Panhandle, they encourage you to keep Derrion and his family in your thoughts as they recover from the horrific injury.
