Brunette man charged with alleged sexual intercourse with minor

An Auburn man has been charged with rape following allegations he had inappropriate contact with a minor.

According to The Citizen, Auburn Police received information in February that an adult male in the area was having a relationship with an underage female. The investigation revealed that 22-year-old Sakai T. Grimes allegedly misrepresented the minor’s age, leading him to believe he was younger.

Police determined that she was 21 years old at the time of the relationship. Grimes was arrested in Syracuse on Monday after a months-long investigation and charged with two counts of third-degree rape and four counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, both Class E felonies.
