New Delhi: Khalistani extremist Arshdeep Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla, identified as a terrorist by India, was arrested possibly in Canada’s Ontario province following a shooting incident, sources claimed on Sunday.

The incident is suspected to have occurred on October 28 in Milton.

Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) announced on October 29 that it arrested two people on charges of “deliberate use of a firearm” following an investigation after the duo came to the hospital and one of them received life-long treatment. -He was threatened with a gun and later discharged.

Their identities were not disclosed and it was stated that both defendants were “remained in custody pending a bail hearing.”

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said that the arrest was made through a joint operation of the state’s special operations cell, Anti-Gangsters Task Force and Faridkot Police.

The duo has been identified as Anmolpreet Singh alias Vishal, a resident of Bhadorh in Barnala, and Navjot Singh alias Neetu, a resident of Nijjar Road in Kharar.

State police said preliminary investigations revealed that Arsh Dalla tasked Navjot to target Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau, who runs a YouTube channel under the name “Hari Nau Talks”.

Arsh Dalla, accused of involvement in targeted killings, terrorist financing and extortion in Punjab, was declared a terrorist by the Indian government in January last year.

The Union Home Ministry had said in a notification that he was involved in large-scale cross-border smuggling of drugs and arms.

He is an accused in various cases registered and investigated by the National Investigation Agency; these include targeted killing, extortion for financing terrorism, attempted murder, disrupting social harmony and creating terror among the people of Punjab.
