Banstead: ‘Sincere’ sympathy after child killed by Branch

“On behalf of the council and the community, I would like to offer my deepest condolences and deepest condolences to the family and friends of the young man who lost his life,” he said in a statement sent to the BBC.

“We are working to support police as they investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.”

The incident is not believed to be suspicious but investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances, according to the Met Police.

They added that a report would be prepared for the coroner in due course.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) said it attended the scene alongside paramedics from London Ambulance Service and a fire crew from Surrey Fire and Rescue.

LFB Assistant Commissioner Pat Goulbourne said: “Despite the intervention of emergency personnel, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.”

“The thoughts of our entire Brigade crew and staff are with the boy’s family at this difficult time.”
