One person arrested for rape allegation

A resident of Khanag area in Anni subdivision has been arrested in a rape case. The arrested suspect was stated to be Shiv Kumar. Kullu SP Karthikeyan Gokulachandran said that on November 7, a woman lodged a complaint that the suspect forced her to have physical intercourse with him without her consent while she was working in her field in her village in the evening hours of October 18. The complainant also said that the suspect threatened to kill him if he told anyone about the incident.

The medical examination of the victim was conducted at the hospital and a case under Articles 64 and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered in this regard, the SP said. He said that the suspect was arrested after his interrogation and was kept in police custody until November 11. He said the investigation was continuing.
