Delhi: Woman arrested for kidnapping girl in 2020 and helping 2 men rape her for 4 months | Latest News Delhi

A 23-year-old woman was arrested Saturday on charges of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 2020 and helping two men sexually assault her over four months, police said. Police said the defendant held the victim captive for four months, drugged and tortured her, and took money from two men so they could rape the victim. The defendant released the child in 2020 out of fear that the police would catch him.

Police said on Sunday that this was the first arrest in the kidnapping-rape case. The case dates back to October 2019, when the 15-year-old girl was reported missing. A case of kidnapping was reported in Kanjhawala. Police said the girl’s parents went to their hometown and the little girl was staying with her other siblings when she disappeared.

Police said numerous searches were made but the child could not be found. He was found in Delhi’s Bawana in February 2020, months after the little boy went missing. Police said the suspect was afraid of being caught by the police and released him.

Deputy commissioner of police (crime) Satish Kumar said the girl told the magistrate that a woman had brought her to Surat, Gujarat, with a job opportunity. “The minor was held captive, given intoxicants and repeatedly sexually assaulted by two men on the woman’s instructions. “The victim was detained illegally in Surat for four months,” he said.

Based on the statement of the minor, a case of gang rape and Pocso Act was registered.

“The defendant was declared guilty by the court in 2021. Last week we received classified information regarding his whereabouts. Using technical surveillance and manual intelligence, we found out that the woman was near her hometown Ludhiana,” said a senior police officer.

A team led by ACP Narender Beniwal conducted raids and nabbed the woman near Janta Nagar on Saturday. Police said the accused and the victim lived in the same village in Punjab. Police said the suspect’s parents got her married but later separated from her husband.
