Offensive, defensive and special teams snaps

Offensive, defensive and special teams snaps

The New York Giants somehow managed to reach a new low in Germany on Sunday. Fall to Carolina Panthers20-17, humiliating overtime style.

Every time we think the Giants have hit rock bottom, they find new and creative ways to prove it could be worse.

Truth be told, we are at a loss for words at this point. We’ve rehashed the same post-loss conversation topics for years and through multiple regimes, and it all feels like a broken record. Bad personnel handling, bad play calling, bad coaching, bad execution, blah, blah, blah…

Here are the snap numbers that contributed to the Giants’ Week 10 loss.

Quarterback Daniel Jones took 100 percent of the offensive snaps, and that’s only remarkable because under no circumstances should that have been the case. Head coach Brian Daboll should have benched him in the second quarter, but he admitted after the game that he didn’t pay any attention to that. Amazing.

Back in the starting role, right tackle Evan Neal also received 100 percent of the offensive snaps and played exceptionally well, unlike Jones. Who would expect to read these words?

With Jason Pinnock out, safety Dane Belton, along with Tyler Nubin, took 100 percent of the defensive snaps, but only one of them played exceptionally well. We’ll let you guess which one it was (hint: it wasn’t Belton).
