California man dies in crash and rollover in Mesquite

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A California man died after his truck crashed and rolled over in Mesquite last week.

Nevada State Police responded to the crash around 1:32 a.m. in the area of ​​West Pioneer Boulevard and Willis Carrier Canyon, 82 miles north of Las Vegas.

Initial investigation determined that a blue 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling westbound on Pioneer at a high rate of speed. Police said the driver lost control while negotiating a bend in the road.

The vehicle then rolled onto the roof after hitting the central median and the lighting pole.

The driver, Matthew Douglas Brashear, 45, of Valley Glen, California, died at the scene from his injuries.

The investigation into the accident continues.

So far this year, state troopers have investigated 64 crashes that resulted in 72 deaths.
