Gardaí are investigating the theft of a car from Moville which was later involved in a road accident.

The silver Renault Fluence car, with partial registration ’11 DL 17′, was taken from Crawford Square at around 23:00 last Wednesday.

The stolen car was driven towards Gleneely where it was involved in a minor collision.

He immediately left the scene and headed towards Carndonagh.

The stolen car, with front-end damage, was found in the Moville area, Ballynally, at 21.30 on Saturday, November 9.

Gardai are appealing for the car to be seen at this time.

A spokesman said: “We would appeal to anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in or around Moville Town on the night of Wednesday 6 November to contact us. “If anyone was using a dashcam in the vicinity of Crawford Square or in Moville Town between 10pm and 11.15pm, they are welcome to contact us. We ask them to pass.

“We are particularly interested in the sightings or dashcam footage of two men believed to be in the area of ​​Quay Street in Moville on November 6 at 10.50pm. One was wearing a gray hoodie and the other a black hoodie.

“If anyone was traveling with a dashcam in any of the areas mentioned (Moville – Gleneely – Carndonagh) between 11pm and midnight on Wednesday 6 November, we would also ask them to contact us.
