Bathgate football team receive support from Taylor Wimpey

Taylor Wimpey East of Scotland has shown its support for local children’s football by donating £2,000.

The funding will enable Bathgate Community Football Club to launch a new men’s football team in 2018 and supply training kits and matchday track jackets for the legacy team from 2011.

David Drummond, club coaching coordinator for the Bathgate Thistle Community Football team, said: “It has been our ambition to launch a new team for six-year-old boys and we are thrilled to have received this significant support from Taylor Wimpey in helping us do this. They support initiatives like ours in the local community We are very grateful to them for this.



“We have provided training strips for every player and purchased essential training equipment, ensuring our weekly training sessions are fun, healthy and safe for everyone involved. Taylor Wimpey’s donation will also help us provide much-needed support to our 2011 squad, who need new training kits and matchday tracksuit jackets made it possible.”

Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing manager for Taylor Wimpey East of Scotland, said: “We are proud to continue our support of grassroots football in our local communities and are delighted to be able to help Bathgate Thistle Community Football Club establish a new team to get six-year-olds involved in the sport.

“It’s great to see children having such fun learning their sport and we hope to see some of the future stars play for the Scotland football team. We are also delighted to have extended our support to the 2011 team to ensure they reflect the professionalism of the club when attending their matches and training.

“This sponsorship allows us to play our part in continuing our support in the local community and also allows us to support our commitment to creating a fantastic range of family homes at our Sibbalds Wynd development in Bathgate.”
