A national program helping female entrepreneurs in Manitoba reached a $10 million milestone this month.

Canadian Women’s Enterprise Organizations has counted $10 million in loans distributed to more than 230 Canadian women entrepreneurs, it was announced Wednesday.

Manitoba businesswomen who will benefit from the flexible loan program include Marcede Sebelius, owner of Lavanda Café in downtown Winnipeg, and Lourdes Still, founder of Masagana Flower Farm and Studio in La Broquerie. The second entrepreneur opened a studio in the forest shortly after receiving funding through the program.

WEOC distributes loans up to $50,000 with flexible repayment terms and no minimum credit score required. The program launched in 2022 with funding from the federal government. Interest from loans is transferred back into the program.
