Seattle Woman Accused of Killing Her Father on Election Day

Corey Burke allegedly killed his father, Timothy, after stabbing him multiple times in the head with an ice pick.


Last week in Seattle A woman who argued with her father about the lights being on has been arrested after being accused of killing him with an ice pick.

According to Law & Crime, 33-year-old Corey Burke allegedly was killed His father, 67-year-old Timothy Burke, was at their home around 8 p.m. Election Day. He was stabbed multiple times in the head while the two were arguing about having the lights on in the house. When police officers arrived at the home, Corey Burke confessed to killing his father. Court documents said he was “suffering from a mental health crisis” because of the election.

He is being held in the King County Jail on $2 million bail after being charged with first-degree murder.

According to detectives, Corey Burke told them there was “something important” about the election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. He was “overwhelmed” with emotions before the incident. Police officers said Timothy tried to turn off the lights during his daughter’s emotional episode, leading to an argument before Corey killed her.

“Corey stated that he had to bite his father while strangling him because he was so strong,” legal documents said. “Corey stated that he felt better when his father ‘loosened up.’ Corey said he then hit her in the head several more times with the ice pick. Corey then sat next to his father and watched him until he saw that he was no longer breathing.”

Timothy Burke died from a combination of severe blunt force trauma, strangulation and puncture wounds, according to an autopsy.

Corey Burke is scheduled to appear in court on November 21.
