Hyderabad: Judge CV Bhaskar Reddy of the Telangana High Court handled a land dispute case involving Sy. No. It is located at No. 182, Ranga Reddy District, Maheshwaram Mandal, Nagaram Village. The petitioner, who is a joint shareholder of the disputed land, expressed concern over the issuance of pattadar passbooks to private parties for the disputed land despite an ongoing writ petition in which the court had earlier ordered status quo. The dispute relates to Bhudan lands and the petitioner alleges that despite the existing order, the revenue department and the Telangana Bhoodan Yagna Board are issuing pattadar passbooks to other parties, ignoring the legal ramifications of the ongoing litigation. Petitioner had previously challenged the decision to change private respondent’s name in the revenue records. The appeal was accepted by the Divisional Revenue Officer (RDO) Kandukur in June 2019.

The petitioner subsequently submitted a revision under the Telangana Land Rights and Pattadar Passbooks Act, 2020 in the Special Court, which was rejected in January 2021, upholding the earlier order. Counsel for the petitioner submitted that despite the existing order in the writ petition, the authorities continue to issue pattadar passbooks and allow transactions on the disputed land.

The petitioner alleged that the authorities concerned, including the Revenue Department and the Telangana Bhoodan Yagna Board, had issued these documents without taking into account the court’s order or the dispute over Bhudan lands. After hearing the arguments, Justice Bhaskar Reddy passed an interim order suspending the right of probate granted to the private party for the disputed land. The court decided to postpone the case to the hearing on November 28, 2024.
