Judge denies bail to 18-year-old boy accused of rape in UGA dorm

ATHENS, Ga. – An 18-year-old accused of rape, sexual assault and aggravated assault in connection with an alleged attack at the University of Georgia dormitory in Athens has been denied bail.

Theodore Bennett Angell, of Izmir, was arrested Nov. 5 and is accused of assaulting a fellow student in Black-Diallo-Miller Hall, which houses freshmen students, in the early morning hours of Sept. 11.

Court documents say the alleged assault took place in a dormitory, but no further details were released. Angell is scheduled to appear in Supreme Court later this month.
