Ky. high school coach accused of sex crimes involving students

An assistant girls soccer coach at Estill County High School has been charged with rape after police say he had inappropriate relationships with at least two students.

Samuel Dustin Beeler, 22, of Irvine, faces two counts of third-degree rape and two counts of enabling or encouraging the use of a minor by electronic means, according to Kentucky State Police.

Kentucky State Police officials received a call from Estill County School on Nov. 6 about allegations involving Beeler and two underage girls, a police source said.

Beeler is accused of sending inappropriate messages to a 16-year-old girl on the social media platform Snapchat and having sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old girl.

According to the citation, evidence was obtained to corroborate the accusations. According to the citation, Beeler admitted to having sex with a 17-year-old student twice and asking her to hook up with him via the social media platform Snapchat.

He denied sending inappropriate Snapchat messages to the 16-year-old, according to the citation.

Beeler was released on $20,000 cash bond as long as he had no contact with the alleged victims, stayed off school grounds and met other conditions, court documents said.

The citation stated that Beeler was also a track and field coach.

In a social media post, the district said it received an anonymous tip about Beeler’s behavior last week and forwarded it to law enforcement.

Beeler was arrested this week and is being held at the Three Forks Regional Jail in Lee County.

“While the investigation was ongoing, the District took steps to ensure that the employee had no further contact with students,” the district said in a social media post. ““The District can now proceed with the termination and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement and the prosecutor’s office. “As always, our first priority is the safety and well-being of our students.”

Beeler is listed on the KHSAA website as an assistant girls soccer coach and boys and girls track and field coach at Estill County High School.
