Kanawha Co. man charged after sharing explicit videos of children on app

A South Charleston man has been charged with distributing child pornography after authorities found he was sharing videos of children engaging in sexual acts on an online messaging app, according to court documents.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Kanawha County Magistrate Judge, 23-year-old Dale Adam Barbour Jr. was arrested after authorities tipped him off to upload sexually explicit videos of children using the Kik Messenger app.

South Charleston investigators were able to obtain a search warrant for the application and discovered Barbour had sent 10 videos of children performing sex acts, all less than five minutes long.

Barbour was charged with felony distribution and display of material depicting explicit conduct by minors.
