What is the story

In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old man went on a sword stabbing spree at a hospital on Thursday.

The man identified as Nikam Sangbia from Bameng Arunachal PradeshIt was reported that he killed three people, including his wife and daughter, in Seppa district.

7 people were injured in the attack on the regional hospital in Seppa.

Victims and reaction to hospital attack

The victims of the attack were identified as Tadu Sangbia (38), two-year-old girl Nakia Sangbia and 45-year-old paramedic Pakha Welly.

Following the news of the attack, police personnel from Seppa police station rushed to the scene.

While trying to subdue Sangbia, Milni Geyi, the officer in charge of the Seppa police station, was injured in his hands.

Investigation and aftermath of the hospital attack

Five of the injured suffered serious injuries and were transported to Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun for further treatment.

East Kameng police chief Kamdam Sikom said Sangbia attacked people without any provocation.

He was initially believed to be mentally unstable, but Inspector Sikom said “he answered our questions sensibly and does not appear to have any problems”.

A murder case was registered against Sangbia.
