Suspect arrested in brutal stabbing that killed young man on Division Avenue

Washington, D.C. — A Northeast D.C. woman has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing that occurred in broad daylight on Division Avenue in September, leaving a 23-year-old man fatally wounded and another woman injured.

The incident occurred at around 2:53 pm on September 1, when a man suffering from stab wounds arrived at the Sixth District police station desperately seeking help. The victim, identified as Gray Hall, was transported to a nearby hospital by DC Fire and EMS, but was later pronounced dead after all life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.

Back on Division Avenue, officers located a second victim, an adult female, who had also been stabbed. The injured, who were later determined to be not life-threatening, were taken to hospital.

After weeks of investigation, members of the Capitol Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 40-year-old Shameka Jackson of Northeast DC on Wednesday, November 13. Jackson is now charged with second-degree murder while armed, according to police.

This arrest marks a significant development in the case marked by the severity of the attack and the death of a young man living in the Northeast.
