‘Mom, it hurts’: Malaysian woman makes last call to her mother after the car hit by the container

It was a phone call Ms Lim never wanted to receive, but it will stay with her for the rest of her life.

After a shipping container crashed into the car driven by 21-year-old Lee Zi Rou, the first thing she did was call her mother for help.

“Mom, it hurts so bad!” Lee exclaimed during a brief conversation with Lim, who shared the heartbreaking conversation in an interview with local Chinese newspaper China Press on Thursday.

Unfortunately, Lee died shortly after making this call.

He was waiting at a traffic light on a road in Penang state on Wednesday morning when the incident occurred.

Videos shared on Malaysian social media showed the container rolling off the trailer and landing on Lee’s car after the truck crashed into an adjacent road at high speed at an intersection.
