Woman killed her 2-year-old daughter because she performed black magic

In an extremely disturbing incident, a two-year-old girl named Pari in Jharkhand’s Palamu district was brutally murdered by her own mother, allegedly as part of a black magic ritual. The shocking crime took place in Kharad village under Hussainabad block and left the entire community in disbelief.

The accused, Geeta Devi, reportedly took her daughter to an isolated area near Sikni Barwadhoda forest, about two kilometers away from their home. Police reports state that the woman, deeply affected by superstitions, sacrificed her child, believing that she would gain supernatural powers.

According to sources, Geeta took the toddler to a deserted place carrying ritualistic items like bangles, clothes and other materials. She reportedly undressed both herself and her daughter in the area and began performing rituals. Eyewitnesses stated that he danced like crazy during the ceremony before committing this terrible act.

Using a knife, Geeta slit the girl’s throat, dismembered her body and removed her heart, which she is said to have consumed as part of the ritual. He then buried his daughter’s remains in the ground before returning home naked, further worrying locals and relatives.

When she arrived, Geeta’s mother-in-law, Kaushalya Devi, noticed her unusual condition and asked her about the child. To the family’s horror, Geeta confessed to killing Pari. Kaushalya immediately informed the villagers and they contacted the police.

The police immediately reached the spot and arrested Geeta. During the investigation, police recovered the child’s dismembered remains and other ritual items at the site. Geeta reportedly admitted her crime, explaining that she had learned black magic and was guided by a dream of sacrificing her husband or child to acquire supernatural powers.

Geeta’s husband, who works in Delhi, was not there at the time of the incident. While his neighbors and relatives described him as a quiet person, they stated that his interest in superstitions had increased in recent months. Police believe Geeta may be suffering from mental instability, which was further aggravated by her involvement in black magic rituals.

The local community was shocked by the barbaric nature of the crime. Authorities are trying to determine whether anyone else influenced or encouraged Geeta’s actions.

Police urged the public to be wary of such superstitions and to seek help when dealing with mental health or spiritual crises. The case sparked widespread anger and debate about the need for stricter measures to prevent superstition-related crimes.
