U.S. Department of Labor division recovers ,000 in unpaid wages

Investigative findings led the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division to find that the Family Medical Leave Act was violated in the termination of an employee by Methodist Family Health.

According to the statement, within the scope of this work, accumulated salaries of $ 14,082 were taken back.

“The Family Medical Leave Act allows eligible employees to care for themselves or their families without fear of losing their jobs,” said Hanz Grunauer, Wage and Hour District Manager in Little Rock.

“The U.S. Department of Labor will defend legally protected worker protections and flexibilities and pursue all available remedies when these rights are violated.”

The employee is entitled to 12 weeks of protected leave due to a significant medical condition and parental leave following the arrival of their child.

To receive confidential compliance assistance from the Wage and Hour Division, employees and employers, regardless of location, may call the agency’s toll-free helpline at 866-4US-WAGE (487-9243).
