Chicago police squad car crashed while officers thwarted a burglary attempt in the 2600 block of North Halsted Street in Lincoln Park: VIDEO

CHICAGO (Wales) — A Chicago police squad car was hit early Friday morning as officers responded to an attempted burglary, security cameras show.

The incident occurred in the 2600 block of North Halsted Street in Lincoln Park.

Police said three men ripped off the front door of a business.

The police arrived at the scene before the thieves could break in.

As he got out of the police squad car, another car hit him and drove away.

No one was injured. One person was detained.
