F1 issues resale warning after launch tickets sell out

LONDON: Formula 1 has warned fans against fake resale listings after tickets for an unprecedented pre-season launch event involving 10 teams sold out shortly after its launch on Friday.

The 2025 launch, which will feature all 20 drivers, will be open to fans at the O2 in London next February 18, with tickets ranging in price from 58 to 113 pounds ($73 to $142).

Formula 1 said all tickets were sold out within an hour.

“We are aware that a number of tickets for our season-opening event at the O2 are listed on unofficial resale websites,” a spokesperson added.

“We can confirm that this is contrary to the terms and conditions of sale and tickets purchased through an unofficial resale platform are not valid for entry.

“While working with The O2, we also identified some of the listings as fraudulent.”

Formula 1 said fans should only use the AXS official sales website.
