Spokane man pleads guilty to burglary in Farmington

A Spokane man admitted to burglarizing a property in Farmington last month.

Eric Harris, 55, pleaded guilty to second-degree felony burglary in Whitman County Superior Court Friday morning. Court Commissioner Doug Robinson said the crime was punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine, but he chose another form of discipline.

Robinson gave Harris a drug offender sentencing alternative for the crime. He will be released from prison for treatment at the end of this month and has been ordered not to consume alcohol or marijuana.

Court documents show Harris, Gary French, 62, and Melissa Pagel, 44, were arrested Oct. 15 for allegedly trespassing on property on Garfield-Farmington Road.

According to court documents, Whitman County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene after three men were allegedly seen on the property via video surveillance.

The three allegedly got into a vehicle and drove to a second property on Heise Road, owned by the same people. Court documents show law enforcement stopped the vehicle and arrested the individuals.
