hyderabad: Hyderabad cyber crime police arrested two people on charges of deceiving job candidates with promises of part-time jobs online.

The arrested persons are Shri Krishna Babanrao Pawar (43) and Ramakant Jovan Dhanawate (30) from Kopargaon in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

According to the police, Krishna Babanrao Pawar and Ramakant Jivan colluded with other cyber crooks to offer part-time jobs by sending messages on Telegram ID and insisted the victims to follow the instructions and register on their website with user ID and password and the victims’ corporate account on the Website.

Victims initially invested smaller amounts and received returns. They then deposited large sums of money to people and ran away.

” These scammers flaunted their profits on the website/platform area but did not allow victims to withdraw their deposited funds. “They were involved in 140 cases all over India, including 9 cases in Telangana,” said D Kavitha, DCP, Cyber Crime.

Realizing that they had been defrauded, the victims contacted the police.

Citizens are warned not to believe fake phone calls and impersonations of people on online websites and also not to invest in unauthorized websites/domains or other means that give the appearance of high returns by investing small amounts sitting at home.
