Popular actor and D’Unbelievables comedian Jon Kenny has passed away at the age of 66

Actor and comedian Jon Kenny has sadly passed away at the age of 66, his family has confirmed.

In new reports from Limerick, Kenny’s wife confirmed that he passed away at the Galway Clinic on Friday evening.

Kenny, best known for his role in D’Incredibles previously suffered from Hodgkin’s lymphoma but it did heal.

Speaking on RTÉ Radio One earlier this year, he said his cancer had sadly returned in recent years.

Kenny rose to widespread national fame with Pat Shortt as part of the comedy duo D’Unbelievables, but he also had a long and varied career in Irish entertainment.

Formed in the late 1980s, the duo gained critical acclaim for their comedy sketches based on Irish characters.

In new reports from Limerick Live, Kenny’s wife has confirmed that he passed away at the Galway Clinic on Friday evening.

They toured extensively for years and released numerous videos of their favorite performances.

Despite his devastating cancer diagnosis, Kenny continued to work, appearing in numerous films and television programs and performing numerous one-man shows.

He recently reprized his leading role in John B Keane’s classic play Matchmaker.

He also had a small role in the Oscar-winning film The Banshees of Inisherin, alongside his former cohort Pat Shortt.
