New Buffalo Township spa closed over alleged ‘illegal sexual activity’

A 47-year-old New Buffalo woman was arrested and a spa was shut down for allegedly engaging in “illegal sexual activity,” according to Michigan State Police (MSP).

On Wednesday, troopers executed a search warrant at Rose Spa, an advertised massage parlor, following a four-month investigation based on tips from the community.

Inside, detectives found several items of “evidentiary value” suspected to be related to immoral and lascivious acts, troopers said.

Additionally, a 47-year-old New Buffalo woman was arrested on the following charges, according to state police:

  • heavy prostitution
  • Keeping a house of ill repute
  • Two misdemeanor charges of soliciting prostitution.
  • erratic behavior

“SWET always thanks alert members of the community for reporting their suspicions,” soldiers wrote to X.

The name of the 47-year-old woman is being kept secret.

This case was handled by the Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET), the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and the MSP Fifth District Intercept Team.
