Triple murder charges against Northwest man after family murder

A 33-year-old man will appear in the North West court on Monday over a triple family murder that shocked Shaleng Village near Taung.

Police spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh said the suspect was arrested on Saturday for the brutal murders of his 74-year-old father Mosimanegape Kale, 68-year-old mother Phodisho and 27-year-old sister Bonolo.

He claimed he attacked them with a mace on Friday night before fleeing.

Paramedics were called and three people died at the scene, Myburgh said.

He said the suspect was arrested with the help of community members and will appear before the Kgomotso Periodic Court on three charges of murder.
