Lucy: 30 Days of Hope

There are approximately 800 children available for adoption in Virginia. They are ready to find a permanent and loving forever family. 10 News is highlighting one child in need of a home each day during 30 Days of Hope in November. The children are of all ages and races and were placed in foster care through no fault of their own. 2024 marks the eighth year that 10 News has produced this series.

Lucy is an outgoing, smart and empathetic girl who will brighten anyone’s day with her infectious smile!

“I like to play Legos, I like to take a nap and play with the iPads,” said Lucy.

The 10-year-old boy also loves playing with animals. Lucy describes the family as people who “will give her love”.

He loves playing in nature, where he can use his incredible imagination.

“Did you know that unicorns can put rainbows in the sky? “Their wings can fly and their horns make them magical,” he said.

She loves arts and crafts and will sit and color for long periods of time. He is good with moving toys.

Lucy could do just fine in a household with children of all ages.

“Lucy, she’s a smart child. He loves little children. “She’s really good with young children and sharing with others,” said one support team member. “Lucy is definitely a caregiver. She loves taking care of those around her. She loves sharing with them and making sure everyone around her is happy and in a good mood. She wants to help, that’s who she is.” .”

He wants routine things in the family, such as family meals and going to school regularly.

A family with an adult female or a non-dominant male would be best. Can you be the family that shows Lucy what it truly means to belong?
