Yeni Kale Theft Suspect Arrested on the Roof

New Castle, DE – Delaware State Police arrested 33-year-old Michael Martino of New Castle following a burglary at a commercial building early Wednesday morning.

Around 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, troopers were dispatched to the AT&T building at 65 Southgate Boulevard due to a repeated alarm. When police arrived at the scene, they found an AT&T employee reporting an unidentified person on the roof. They found Martino on a catwalk between the back of the building and the cell tower. He followed instructions to get off the podium and was arrested without incident.

The investigation revealed that Martino caused significant damage to the roof that served as the entry point into the building.

Martino was then taken to Troop 2 where he faced charges including Attempted Theft 3rd Degree (Criminal), Criminal Mischief of $5,000 or More (Criminal), and Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree. After being arraigned in Magistrate Court 2, he was released on $3,000 unsecured bail.
