KUWAIT CITY, November 17: The Supreme Council for Family Affairs is working on the activation of all its committees, as well as preparing a comprehensive work plan for shelters and protection centres; There are also campaigns for the Protection from Violence Law and the Children’s Law to raise public awareness about the laws that protect the family and society.

Sources confirmed that the council is coordinating with the Office of Social Development to create psychological and social programs in line with approved standards to deal with cases of violence. Sources said this was in line with the leadership’s directives on the importance of joint efforts between the two parties to ensure effective and comprehensive support is provided to those affected by domestic violence. Sources stated that the council is working intensively to activate the role of psychological and social experts and improve the skills of professionals in these fields by organizing training courses and monitoring the work of joint committees to increase the productivity of employees assigned to protection centres. whose members are parties or organizations dealing with cases of violence and which automates procedures to ensure efficient workflow.

Regarding the working mechanisms in the protection centers and ways of dealing with abused women, sources explained that the council has protection centers for abused women in Ahmadi and Khaitan. They said these centers are staffed by the most skilled staff who provide full care and support to those affected by domestic violence. They added that these centers rely on a team of qualified national professionals in psychological, social and legal fields to guarantee the provision of the best services and to handle cases professionally, in line with the council’s commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment. for abused women.

Sources also confirmed the establishment of similar centers in all governorates and emphasized that the council is committed to providing integrated protection in cooperation with other relevant authorities to achieve the desired goals related to family and childhood. Regarding its work plan and activities, sources explained that the council conducts regular training programs to improve the skills of employees deployed at the centers and update them on new methodologies; In addition to workshops on women’s empowerment, a special initiative for the functional and academic qualification of abused women and a comprehensive program to celebrate World Children’s Day will be organized.
