Investigators say fake nurse supervised dozens of patients at multiple hospitals

A woman who allegedly introduced herself as a woman nurse inside Los Angeles, California happened arrested After being reported, he worked in a hospital for a month, taking care of patients.

The Burbank Police Department said Thursday that 44-year-old Amanda Leeann Porter Virginiaallegedly impersonated a registered nurse at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center who is said to have treated dozens of patients.

He allegedly used a fake ID to get a job at a Catholic hospital in April. Between April 8 and May 8, he saw approximately 60 patients before co-workers discovered he was allegedly impersonating a nurse living in another state.

Porter managed to collect two paychecks before being fired from the hospital.

This isn’t the first time she’s allegedly impersonated a nurse; He reportedly did the same thing at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Santa Clarita. Investigators believe she impersonated a nurse at several hospitals.

“In early October, we learned that an employee had forged documents to obtain employment at our hospital,” Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital said. We have no indication that the quality of care patients received was compromised.”

Both hospitals told KTLA that Porter was fired immediately after learning he had allegedly impersonated them.

Neither hospital said it provided inadequate care during the time they operated. In both cases he was working under trial conditions and supervised by qualified training nurses.

He currently faces charges of identity theft, fraudulent impersonation and grand larceny, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

“It is further alleged that Porter carried out the crimes in a planned, sophisticated and professional manner,” the district attorney said in a statement. he said. “It is also alleged that Porter took advantage of his position of trust and confidence to commit the offences.”

Porter was arrested on November 7 and is currently being held without bail at the LA County Central Regional Detention Facility.
