Police say a man was stabbed to death at the Motel 6 at 540 North Milwaukee Avenue in Prospect Heights

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, Illinois (WLS) — A man was stabbed to death at a northern suburban motel Sunday morning, police said.

Prospect Heights police said the stabbing followed an argument between a group of friends at the Motel 6 on Milwaukee Avenue.

The police received a call around 02:02 at night. When police arrived they found a man with stab wounds. He died at the scene.

Police have not released any information regarding the identity of the victim.

The suspect remained at the scene and was detained by police. Investigators said the suspect was cooperative.
