Police investigating stabbing, shooting in Minneapolis

Minneapolis police are investigating two separate stabbing incidents One of the incidents that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning was gunshots.

Man suffered critical injuries

Police said they responded to reports of a stabbing just after 2:15 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Hennepin Boulevard East.

Police later found a person with life-threatening injuries. He was then taken to the hospital.

Investigators say they believe the stabbing occurred after the victim left a nearby bar with a group of friends.

Police said the victim was confronted by another man as he got into his vehicle.

Then two people started fighting and the person was stabbed.

Police said the suspect fled the area before police arrived.

No arrests were announced regarding the incident.

Stabbing and shooting at after-hours party

Officers said they responded to the 2800 block of Lyndale Avenue South just after 3:45 a.m. Sunday for reports of shots fired.

Police later found a man with non-life-threatening stab wounds and he was later taken to hospital.

Investigators say they believe the victim was at an after-hours party when he was confronted by a group.

This conflict led to a fight, during which the victim was stabbed.

The victim reportedly said he heard shots being fired from a vehicle coming towards him while he was running away, but he was not hit.

Police said the vehicle fled the area before officers arrived.

No arrests were announced regarding the incident.
