The National Empowerment Fund is set to hand over a multi-million Rand investment to a 100 per cent black-owned logistics company in the Sarah Baartman Regional Municipality on Wednesday.

The fund will invest over 40 million rand in Milkway Transport, while the municipality will invest 350,000 rand to increase the company’s capacity.

NEF said in a statement that the investment will increase Milkway Transport’s fleet from 1 truck to 19 trucks, creating jobs and serving major customers such as Woodlands Dairy and Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa.

“The launch will celebrate the partnership between NEF, local councils and Milkway Transport as a beacon of opportunity, economic empowerment and transformation in the region.
